The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the excellence of research in UK universities. Impact Case Studies showcases the best academic research, across a range of subjects, that has had ‘an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia’ in the UK and globally.
